Becoming A Perfect Missionary

¡Hola!

This week marked the beginning to another change, the return of President and Sister Glazier, and the arrival of Presidente y Hermana Vasquez. Presidente Vasquez is from Guatemala and was a Branch President in the MTC and a Stake President. He has an I'm a Mormon video, so if you want to look it up his name is Bruno Vasquez.

Elder Ibarra and I are continually striving to better ourselves and work even harder! We've really been able to see our improvement in our numbers and we know that as we continue we'll keep on increasing.

This Wednesday we're going to have a Multi-Zone to meet Presidente y Hermana Vasquez. When President Glazier left, he asked each missionary to make a vision with goals and plans on how to become a perfect missionary. To me, being a perfect missionary is being a consecrated missionary like Tad R. Callister said. A consecrated missionary literally gives all of himself, his pride, fear, disobedience, laziness, passions, everything! He truly lives the law of consecration and gives up his old self completely.

I know that it's difficult, but possible and that anyone can do it if they really desire to. As Tad R. Callister said; "I do not believe the Lord expects immediate perfection, but immediate progress, and with progress over time comes consecration." I know that that's true and I want to and can achieve that level of obedience!

I Am A Disciple Of Jesus Christ And I Will Be Until The End Of My Days!

¡Hola!

President and Sister Glazier go home this week. Last Tuesday we had our last Multi-Zone with them.

I've been able to learn from them and grow so much in these past ten months. I know that one of the reasons I was sent here was to have him as my mission president. He's helped me to feel the perfect, infinite love of my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He's helped me to comprehend the Atonement a little deeper and to really understand what it means to feel godly sorrow and repent, even for small things. I've come to know my Savior and His infinite love, mercy, and patience for me and all people.

President Glazier has helped me to really understand the Doctrine of Christ and the importance of each principle: maintaining and nourishing my faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repenting, making and keeping covenants, obeying the command to receive the Holy Ghost in my life by living worthily, and enduring faithfully to the end by renewing my covenants through the Sacrament, continuously living the Gospel, and in the future to take upon me the new and everlasting covenant of marriage in The House of the Lord.

I know that the Lord is refining, shaping, and polishing me into who he wants and needs me to be here in the mission and in the future. I know that as I remain faithful, He will grant me the blessings He has promised me in my Patriarchal Blessing. I'll miss President and Hermana Glazier, but like he said in his letter, it's not "goodbye," just "see you later." I love them both!

¡Soy un discípulo de Jesucristo y lo seré hasta el fín de mis días!

Having A Fountain Of Investigators!

¡Hola!

This week was been great! In our zone conference we talked about having a fountain of investigators instead of a pool that keeps on changing and moving to flow toward the temple. We discussed how we need to keep finding new investigators to put in and take out investigators that aren't progressing.

This week we've been working a lot with the members by visiting them, sharing about the campaña de oración (members praying to have missionary experiences), asking for references, following up, and then visiting their contacts with them. We're really seeing the fruits of working closely with the members to find, teach, and help people progress toward baptism, and, in the future, the temple.

Yesterday, we had a stake priesthood meeting for all members where we discussed the stake plan and how we need to work differently. I know that as we work even harder and closer with the members that is when the Lord will work miracles!

Short, But Sweet!

¡Hola!

It's been a little tough getting new investigators, but our zone leaders gave us part of their area so we're going to work hard there and find those people! That's pretty much all for this week.

We Continue To Exercise Faith And Be Obedient.

¡Hola!

This week nothing super amazing has happened, but Elder Ibarra and I are continuing working on finding more investigators through our own efforts and through members. We know that the Lord will guide us to them or them to us as we continue to exercise faith and be obedient.
