Humility, Faith, Hope & Charity

¡Hola!

Two weeks ago we had the opportunity to watch a church movie called Ephraim's Rescue. It's about a group of handcart pioneers traveling during winter and a man named Ephraim Hanks who travels from Salt Lake to find them and bring them supplies. As I watched the movie and how great of a man Ephraim Hanks was, it made me think about my Patriarchal Blessing and everything that the Lord has in store for me. Ephraim Hanks discovers that he's been blessed with the gift of healing and as he goes alone to rescue the handcart company he prays to have a buffalo in front of him. It happens and when he arrives to rescue them he gives them meat and heals the sick. His complete obedience and reliance on the Lord impressed me and made me think about what I need to change to be great like him.

On Monday we visited a part-member/less-active family (the mom is a member, but her kids aren't). When we finished the oldest son offered the prayer and it was powerful. After, he told us it was the first time he had ever prayed.

On Tuesday we went to give service to a family we contacted in the street. They have a huge house and we swept both floors and cut their grass with a sickle. That night Elder Ramirez and I stopped by the house to use the bathroom and a bat came in the house! We tried to get it out and we ran, screamed, and laughed. After about ten minutes we decided to leave the back door open with all the lights off and go to our next appointment. When we got back it left.

On Wednesday we had a multi-zone meeting with Elder Ochoa of the area presidency. We learned about how we need to help our investigators repent. Everything starts with humility, then we have faith, then hope, then charity. I know that as we follow that pattern all our life of repentance we'll have peace, joy, and forgiveness.

¡Levántate! ¡Podemos hacerlo ahora!

Love,
Elder San Diego
